The old domain age is very helpful to optimize website. I have a case 3 months ago, our client registered a new domain, when we finished 301 redirection, search ranking dropped out of the 100. Because new website lost all of it's back links and domain ages. We rebuilt the high quality back links for this new site. After 3 months, 70% of total keywords come back to first page on Google.
